Sorry for the delay on this week’s posting but I got sidetracked by shiny things and fuzzy cats. Yes, it is true I’m a sucker for both. I’m excited because this week I will be heading to Colorado. A long weekend seeing family and watching my friend get married. I will try and stay on schedule with posting on Monday next week before I fly back to Texas. Now let’s get on with the post.
Welcome to deck 10 – The Lido. This is a main deck where a large percentage of fun times are had. There are deck parties here, St. Jude fundraisers, contests, swimming, eating, drinking, relaxing, and oh so much more!
I will begin our tour of The Lido from the stern (rear) of the ship and make our way to the bow (front). On the far back you will find an outside area with partial covering. There is an abundance of seating for lounging and eating. I enjoy this area because there are a lot less people here so we easily find a table to eat our breakfast and lunch. We have also found that when we first board the ship we can enjoy our lunch there without walking around trying to find an open seat. T
This area is home of the Tides Pool that features two spas or hot tubs. Not being a swimmer I do not partake in the pool activities but I did notice that when the main pool on The Lido is full of people the Tides Pool is usually available. I think that people do not venture far from where everyone is huddled so they miss the other parts of the ship that have the same activities.
The Tides Bar offers libations for all or at least those of legal drinking age. I am not a big drinker but I do like the tropical favors they offer and also the fun souvenir cups you can purchase. For those of you that enjoy the drinking of many alcoholic beverages I will be letting you know about the Cheers program in a later posting.
The Pizzeria is 24 hours of pizza yumminess. You can get it by the slice or order a whole pizza. There is no additional charge for the Pizzeria so eat all you want and they will make more. In our experience there is usually a short line but a considerable wait time as everything is made fresh. It’s worth the wait.
The final restaurant in this area is The Tandoor. The food is Indian Cuisine. The place is usually hopping but the line moves quickly. I cannot give you a review of this place because I have not tried the food. I am not a big fan of Indian food and with it located by the Pizzeria I find myself gravitating toward the cheesy goodness. I will make every effort to try it on our cruise at the end of this year. I will post my review after we return.
I look forward to seeing some of you in just a few days and especially cannot wait to hug the nieces and nephews. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or would like to make sure I post about something please keep it to yourself. HAHAHAHA just kidding, let me know. I want to make sure that we are all fully informed. Remember there are no stupid questions, ok yes there are but ask anyway. Until next week……….
