San Diego Bound, OORAH!

Yep, it’s that time again.  Time for vacation!  This trip will be a road trip with destination MCRD SanDiego for the Marine 1st Battalion, Alpha Company Platoon 1005 Graduation….woohoo our baby boy is going to be a Marine.  We will be heading out from Temple, TX on a 10 day 3174 mile road adventure passing through the Grand Canyon, Laughlin, Apple Valley, Disneyland, and fun filled San Diego.  I will be posting information on the prepping of the trip, the sights we see along the way, and of course pictures.

What a wonderful family vacation we had.  Time at a beach house in Galveston and then an amazing cruise on the Carnival Triumph.  The Triumph was an awesome first time cruising experience.  We had plenty of things to do from fun at the pool, some slot machine time, the great shows, towel animal folding, bingo, and so much more.  Even with all of the research and prep work there were still plenty of surprises.  We had so such a great time that our second cruise has been booked on the Carnival Magic in December.  This time it will just be my husband and I cruising to celebrate our anniversary.

I do recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for the Main Dining Room because it is so very cold in there.  The food was great and we tried everything!  If there is any downside it is that the photographers are always snapping pictures, especially at dinner.  One night ok, two nights it gets old, by the 3rd night we had had enough and just wanted a nice family dinner without flashes.

I suggest reading the Fun Times every morning to see everything that is taking place on the ship that day.  There is so much going on that having a game plan set early in the day makes it easier to get to everything that interests you.  We used highlighters to mark what interested us and tried to get to those events but found that we got side tracked a lot.  LOL

I can honestly say that being pampered for 5 days was wonderful.  This has been by far the best and most bang for our buck vacation we have had.
